In 2002, Reed Exhibitions (leading international trade show operator) established a strategic partnership with Fira de Barcelona which involved the creation of a new company, Alimentaria Exhibitions, to organise and manage food and beverage trade shows (products and technology) throughout the world.
The main headline trade shows that make up the company are Alimentaria, Bta. Barcelona food and beverage technologies and Barcelona Degusta, in Barcelona; Alimentaria&Horexpo Lisboa in Portugal and Alimentaria México, in Mexico City.
