Hispack and Bta to be held simultaneously in 2009 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Vía venue

Fira de Barcelona and Alimentaria Exhibitions – organiser of the Alimentaria Exhibition – have reached an agreement to hold Hispack, International Packaging Exhibition, and Bta, Barcelona food technology simultaneously, 11th to 15th May, 2009 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Vía venue. The joining of these two trade shows positions the Hispack & Bta project among the top three European trade fairs which present a comprehensive selection of machinery and technology for the food and beverage industry.
Together, the Hispack & Bta 2009 trade shows will bring together representatives of 3,500 exhibitors in a net area of 85,000m2 occupying the six pavilions of Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Vía venue. Over 60,000 professional visitors are expected, 10% of them from abroad.
The synergies between these two complementary trade shows result from the fact that the food and beverage industry is the main consumer of machinery, containers and packaging materials, and that there is a great deal of overlap between Hispack and Bta visitor profiles. On this basis, the main goal is to make the tri-annual Hispack & Bta event a benchmark for the European food and beverage industry, which will find all the solutions it requires for its chain of production: from ingredients to packaging, encompassing processing machinery and intermediate food products.
The Hispack & Bta 2009 project seeks expecially to increase the international dimension of both events in terms of both number of participant companies and number of visitors from other countries. This commitment to being an international event is intended to guarantee the future growth of the trade shows.
With this agreement, both Hispack and Bta will retain their own identity, image and organisation, although all common aspects which affect marketing of the spaces and promotion of coinciding sectors, event logistics and parallel activities of interest to both events will be coordinated.
Hispack is Spain’s most important container, packaging and point-of-sale advertising trade show and is organised by Fira de Barcelona in collaboration with Graphispack Asociación.
For its part, Bta, Barcelona food technology, organised by Alimentaria Exhibitions – a joint venture between Fira de Barcelona and Reed
Exhibitions – is our country’s benchmark trade show for the food and beverage technology sector. Both exhibitions take place tri-annually.
