Alimentaria Exhibitions, a Joint Venture between Reed Exhibitions and Fira de Barcelona
Alimentaria Exhibitions manages over 200,000 m2 net of exhibition space, 6,000 international exhibitors, 200,000 buyers and a direct turnover of 40 million euros.
In 2002, Reed Exhibitions agreed on a strategic alliance with Fira de Barcelona which led to the setting up of a new company, Alimentaria Exhibitions S.A., to organise and run food product and technology tradeshows throughout the world.
The company's main exhibitions are Alimentaria, Bta. Barcelona tecnologías de la alimentación and Barcelona Degusta in Barcelona; Alimentaria Lisboa, in Portugal; Alimentaria México, in Mexico FD; and Alimentaria Mercosur in Argentina.
Alimentaria Exhibitions has achieved leading positions in the food fairs sector in the countries where it operates: Spain, Portugal and Mexico. The firm manages over 200,000 square metres net of exhibition space, with 6,000 international exhibitors drawn from the production, trade, equipment and technology sides of the food industry attracting around 200,000 professionals from these sectors. It has a turnover of 40 million euros.

Alimentaria Alimentaria, the International Food and Beverages Show, is one of the sector's top three trade fairs in Europe. From 70 countries around the world, 4,806 companies - 1,500 of which are international leaders in food manufacturing and distribution - came in 2008 to Barcelona (Spain) to meet up with the 158,000 international purchasers from 155 countries that visit the show. With total exhibition area of 131,000 square meters distributed over 15 single-theme halls based on product families, Alimentaria's next edition is set to take place March 22-26, 2010. |

Alimentaria Lisboa Alimentaria Lisboa, the International Food Show, will take place at Feira Internacional de Lisboa (Portugal), a strategic location at the centre of the trade triangle between Europe, Africa and South America. The event is the perfect bridge for food industry sales with countries enjoying cultural and linguistic ties to Portugal (Brazil, Angola, Cape Verde and Mozambique) and its success is backed up by 1,000 exhibitors and 35,000 professional visitors. |

Alimentaria México Alimentaria México, the most important food and drink equipment show in Mexico and Central America, will be held June 2-4, 2009 in Mexico City, with 11.000 purchasers visiting from Mexico, Central America and the southern United States. The event bring together 450 exhibitors from 30 countries, displaying close to 5,000 food products to professionals, sales agents and international buyers. |

Alimentaria Mercosur Alimentaria Mercosur, the International Food and Beverages Show, will take place in Argentina from 12-14 August 2008 at La Rural, the Buenos Aires Exhibition Centre. In Argentina, the industry of Food and Beverages is one of the activities that has grown phenomenally in recent decades, and still boasts ample development opportunities for the future. In this edition, Alimentaria Mercosur will welcome 130 exhibitors and 14,000 professional visitors from Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Paraguay (Mercosur). |

Barcelona Degusta Barcelona Degusta, the Food Show for Consumers will be held its third edition on 6-9 March 2009 at Fira de Barcelona (Spain). Nearly 500 exhibitors and more than 40,000 visitors will be on hand for an event featuring a large market where food can be sampled and bought, as well as tasting areas and various conferences and practical classes. |
